International Maritime Organization Requirement – MARPOL Annex VI, the vessel to comply with regulation 14, the sulfur content less than 0.5% from 1 Jan 2020.
To comply with this requirement many vessels are presently fitted with after treatment of the Exhaust Gas.
The process involves removing SOx in the exhaust gas by installing an exhaust gas treatment unit (e.g. the EGC system) to achieve emission reduction equivalent to that of using low-sulphur fuel oil.
Our onboard audit will be beneficial to Owners and Operators to ensure proper usage and to check compliance with international regulations.
Audit scope includes,
